According to a source close to the Arctic Monkeys, their next album is set to a 60's vibe. Where did this musical insight come from? Alexa Chung apparently. The source says that Alexa informed lead singer Alex Turner (and also her current beau) about the upcoming fashion 60's trend.
Although fashion and music have for quite sometime been connected, is the new trend to forecast your upcoming album to the new trends? I sure hope not.
This being (allegedly) true however for the Arctic Monkeys, I think I might just have to purchase something to bask in their amazing tunes. Perhaps the T-Bags jersey mini dress, $216
Or, the T-Bags jersey maxi dress, $215

Apologies for the past few weeks of my M.I.A blog. A huge load of studying was done, and now that midterms are over, I have plenty of time to blog.

As for fashion, F/W 2008 will be bypassed this year. However, I might do a very brief re-cap sometime this week.

As for this posts topic, let's talk about Karlie Kloss.

For the past year, she has graced Teen Vogue quite regularly, and even landing a cover on the February 2008 edition alongside Chanel Iman and Ali Michaels. This season however, has truly brought the model from a young model in Teen Vogue, into the big league.

At first glance at this photo:

I immediately thought "Wow. She was MADE to walk for Calvin Klein.

Needless to say, Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa really ruined his one and only when he threw her in a really depressingly black and blue high waisted skirt and tube top outfit:

I'll resist mentioning the horrid hairstyle, but you have eyes and can see.

However, other designers really took notice of her. It's hard to believe she is only 15 years old. When I was 15, I was still watching Teletoon and Rooney was on heavy rotation on my portable CD player.

Karlie Kloss aside, if I could have either of the following dresses from Benhaz Sarafpour's f/w 2008 collection, I think my life would be complete.

Of course, taking a cue from Proenza Schouler's f/w 2008 collection, I would pair either of the two with plum tights and the following Alexander McQueen striped pumps ($805)

And while we are at it, let's finish off the look with this gorgeous orange short trench from DKNY f/w 2008

Now THAT is an outfit suitable for f/w 2008!

In between reading a mountain of textbooks, trying to memorize silly formulas and still obtaining a social life whilst trying to stay in tune with both the celebrity world and the fashion world, I somehow have found time to discover a new model! Of course when I say discover, I mean see-in-a-fashion-magazine-spread-and-then-announce-the-model-on-my-blog. Of course what is most interesting about Reid Kastyn, is not the fact that she has an amazing face (and not to mention a great haircut, which I might just copy on my own hair), is that in a spread with 32 different models, Reid stuck out.

She's on the right featured in the F/W 2007 edition of French Revue de Mode.

I liken her to an Irina Lazareanu Masha Novoselova cross.

I think she has potential - What do you think?

Remember back a month or so ago when I announced Victoria Beckham's possible campaign with the one and only Marc Jacobs? Well, it has come true! Hate her or love her, she is one person you cannot ignore, but her MJ ad? Well, the fact that you cannot even see her face makes the ad that much more weird. Yes, we have seen Vicky's skinny skinny legs, do we really need an ad shoving them into our faces? Apprently though the ice queen herself has a sense of humor, bring shoved in a shopping bag and all.

Ugh. I am utterly sorry for the lack of posting.

In better happier news, a new year has come! I of course welcomed the year 2008 in with a bang avec friends. Perhaps I was a tad over dressed, but sometimes, that can be a good thing.

I do admit that a good 75% of the reason for my lack of posting is due to the fact that I have been in posting deadland. So, I bring you a what to wear for a winter return for school. Simply because any fashionista knows that one cannot wear the same attire that they wore in December (uh, unless that is just me). With a new year, means a brand new style change. From September to December, I was dressing with French influences, with lots of stripes, light layers, skinny legged pants (you know I prefer the title cigarette legged), and colourful flats. This season however, for the few days into January that we are, I'm seeming to be drawn to a more heavier style. When I mean heavier, of course I mean darker colours, longer sweaters, thicker layers, and boots. Brown and dark green have entranced me this January (along with my current obsession, motorcycle boots, which now have a higher leg rise), and I have ditched the navy blue and purple hues. Now that you are fully aware of my style change from last year to this year, I bring you the style guide for January back to school.

I sincerely apologize for not posting in awhile. However, my exams are over, and with Christmas and New Years next week, a review post is needed.

Sasha, Agyness and Raquel ruled the fashion world

Yellow and white dresses made a well deserved comeback

From past season extremes of wide and skinny belts, the belt finally came to a quaint medium width near the end of the year.

The high waisted trend hit its peak this year, seen all over the runways, and even in Hollywood.

Retro swimsuits, like Kirsten Dunst wore this past summer, having a covered look, but still has the coveted sexy vibe. Some designers picked up on the trend, but expect to see more next summer.

Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler recieved ultimate status in the fashion world. Both designs equally in my mind represent the 2000's.

Statement hats, not for the shy returned to the runways this year

New prints emerged this year. Small prints influenced from the early 90's a Luella's S/S 2008 show, Stella McCartney's S/S 2008 show featured florals, and from Anna Sui and D&G's S/S 2008 shows came much different prints.

So Over for 2008:

-LEGGINGS! (Enough already! Wear pants if you are cold!)
-Wide legged pants (afterall, they barely caught on outside the fashion world)
-Complicated shoes (any Balenciaga, gladiators etc.)
-Long hemlines (the new length is right at the knee, or thigh skimming. Get rid of the full length skirts and dresses, shorter hemlines are much more 2008.)
-Overly done hair. after just one season of pincurls and glamour waves, relaxed waves and messy updo's came back. and were gladly accepted.
-Flip flops. instead, go for a chic black flat that will last you forever, or, the Birkenstock (because comfort and looks can be together (I myself own the t-strap sandals).

Predictions:

-Electric blue overload (especially in accessories, think bags shoes, gloves etc.)
-The return of simplistic dressing (think Calvin Klein) -Peach and orange (think Pucci's S/S 2008 show)
-The capri (think Audrey)
-trouser jean
-metallic and beaded accents
-cuffs
-brooches
-retro swimsuits (see above), because as much as they were seen this past year, I'm hoping the fashion world will take the trend further.

The next top...

designer? Erin Fetherston

Model? Siri Tollerød

Of Course, only time will tell if my predictions will actually come true, but, you never know what will happen next in the fashion world. That is unless you are the King of the fashion world, Karl Lagerfeld (but then again, is last Chanel collection had a little bit too much denim).....

In the beginning, when I first saw Pivovarova, my first thought was "she tries way too hard". Now however, Sasha has really been climbing up the fashion scale. From Prada ads, to more amazing editorials. Her latest, in the January 2008 issue of American Harper's Bazaar, photographer Anthony Ward captures her beautifully.

Is it just me, or is she becoming the next Kate Moss? And why all of a sudden has Harper's Bazaar started to become a great magazine (perhaps it could fill my long annoyed relationship with American Vogue)?

holiday looks part I

It is getting to that time of year, when we all recieve the holiday party invitations, and pick and choose which to attend. Back in early October, I saved a picture worthy of the holiday party look (and i have been waiting and waiting to post about it!).

Before the above photo, I never heard of Becki Newton. It is very much a Mischa outfit. Curls, and a shimmery dress balance out a motorcycle leather jacket. When looking for the right jacket, go for fit, and very few add ons. Simplicity is best.

In some breaking casting news, it seems Miuccia Prada has chosen the lovely Kirsten Dunst as the new face of Miu Miu. Which, I cannot agree more with. After all, the Lindsay ones where horrendous.

(I just had to post the redheaded K. It suits her well, yes?)

In other non news, but still, well, fashion, the new must had item. Any fashionista would rather freeze her ears off than wear a hat. Burberry (how I love burberry) has come up with the perfect solution. Earmuffs! Of course not just any earmuffs would do, quilted patent leather earmuffs of course! For just $225 you can proudly keep your hair warm, while still looking ever so fashionable.

What's this? In some more casting news (this one is actually surprising to me) Urban Decay, mega make-up empire has hired Cory Kennedy, Nylon It girl slash muse (or former? who can keep it straight these days?) of The Cobra Snake. Does the world really need more Cory?

I apologize for the frequent posting, but there is just so much going on in the fashion industry right now!

Is it possible that two newcomers have more ad campaigns booked than some of the best (well, I guess that is debatable) models?

Karlie Kloss
A relative unknown before the s/s 2008 runways, known only before for her brief shots in Teen Vogue, she has landed 4 ad campaigns this s/s 2008 season: Pringle, Nina Ricci, Rebecca Taylor (Asia) and See by Chloe.

Meghan Collison

Sure, there has been talk about her, but she has yet to do anything more than a few runways and a cover of Fashion magazine. Like Karlie Kloss, she landed 4 ad campaigns: Prada Resort, Prada, Belstaff and Pringle. Let's face it, Sasha was a relative unknown before being shoved into the spotlight with the Prada campaigns, so Meghan will get even more exposure. Furthermore, supermodels.nl has put Meghan under Meagan. Just so, you know, you are informed.

Sasha Pivovarova landed only Prada: Prada, Prada Resort, and Prada Resort Accessories.

Raquel Zimmerman also has two campaigns with Fendi and Valentino.

Natasha Poly is going to be featured only in Gucci and Gucci Resort.

Lily Donaldson has Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Maxmara.

Kate Moss of course ties both Karlie and Meghan with 4: Roberto Cavalli, YSL, Louis Vuitton and Donna Karan.

The model with the most? Well, if you have been paying attention to my ad posts, it's Anja Rubik! She had 6: Chloé Fragrance, Gap, H&M, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, Chanel Winter Eye wear (well, six if you include the Chanel eye wear).

Newcomers Masha Novoselova, scored only one with D&G Resort, and Kasia Struss, who was seen in too many runway shows to count also landed only one with Dior.

Is it just me, or is the fashion industry giving the wrong people campaigns?

Masha Novoselova, a relative unknown before this past S/S 2008 season. Just don't confuse her with Masha Tyelna! From this month's Numero (how I love the french, and their magazines!), she's looking rather fierce. Expect to see much more of her next year.

Toni Garrn has done few editorials, and ONE runway show (Calvin Klein ), yet her most noticed and talked about editorial was from French Vogue, although I was unable to find the exact date it was taken (Does anyone know?). The rumor is, that she's young (born in 1991), which is very hard for me to believe, as she looks much older. Anyways, enough with my rambling, here are the pictures:

Back in September, I fell in love with a pair of rubber boots. It may sound silly, but it is true. It was raining, which usually leaves me feeling depressed when I have to be outside (the fear of getting splashed but passing cars a la Bridget Jones scares me), alas, this one time I actually was left feeling happy, and excited after I can back indoors. A girl, who shall remain nameless (partly because I never met her), wore fushia wellies (who would have thought?) and skinny jeans. Partly, I was amazed because I have never had the guts to wear rubber boots. These boots however were wellies. Instantly I promised myself to buy a pair, although in a more practical colour.

Yes, I am aware that it is November tomorrow, and yes, sooner or later snow will stay on the ground (until March's spring melts it all away). However, wouldn't allow myself to save this post for March, or even April for that matter. Remember Kate Moss circa 2005 at the Glastonbury festival? No? Well, I shall revive your memory:

Although the dress may be short, and the hip-slung belt a tad over played, does she nbelt reads "Got just ooze cool? Granted, just about everything Kate Moss does is cool (minus the loser ex, who I refuse to mention), wellies, with a dress? Kate Moss, once again I salute you.

The same week in 2005, she wore the next outfit:

Note, the belt reads "GLASTONBURY", which, another note, if you have no idea what the Glastonbury festival is, search for it on wikipedia. Jean shorts? With a vest and wellies? Would you ever think of such a thing? Of course not.

Although you are probably done with the Kate Moss at Glastonbury photos! Alas, you have one more to scroll through, this one from the 2004 edition of Glastonbury. This photo demonstrates how amazing wellies look with skinny jeans. Imagine them with pink wellies? That was the inspiration for this post.

Although I have not found a decent site selling wellies, expect to pay nor more than $70 for a good pair. As a last thought, go with solid colours. As much as you might like the striped wellies today, tomorrow when it rains and all you have left of your clean clothes is your Rebecca Taylor Cardigan (puffed sleeves!), $300 and your Sass & Bide Misfit skinny jeans, $195

you won't....on second thought, I like the idea of the cardigan and bright pink and blue polka dotted wellies. Apparently, my thoughts about printed wellies are seriously wrong. However, don't wear them if you're over the age of 25. It's just not cute anymore. Stripes and polka dots? Cute. Rubber duckies and weird prints? Not cute.

In this post, I’m addressing an issue that has bombarded my e-mail inbox: high waisted shorts, pants and skirts. It’s a problem we all have: what do you wear them with? Do you tuck the shirt in? Can you wear a fancier blouse? How high should you go? All of these questions will be answered.

Part one: Celebrity inspiration: How they do and do not work.

Mischa Barton

Her problem? The shirt she paired them with, and the fit of the jeans. Fit is everything, and these jeans do not fit Mischa. She’s getting a bit of a camel toe, and overall, the cut is emphasizing her hips, making them look bigger than they actually are. The vintage shirt, is a 70’s throw back, and paired with a 70’s style jean, the overall look is a bit too vintage. Anther shirt could have done wonders.

Fergie

A great pair of purple jeans, paired simply with a plain black shirt. The problem? The belt loops. They sit at the height of a normal pair of jeans, so they visually shorten her.

Jessica Simpson

Take note from Jessica’s wrongs: never ever go light wash with a high wasted pant. Light wash is hardly flattering. Gasp! The rouching on the pockets! Notice how they make you zoom in on her hips? Never a good thing.

Peaches Geldof

Know your body. If you have a bit of a pouch, a higher waist can emphasize this area. Tip: go for a thinner top. Otherwise, when tucking in the shirt, a bit of substance will be added to your stomach. Overall, I love Peaches creativity.

Nicole Richie, Sienna Miller, Chloe Sevigny (L-R)

Nicole Richie: Although I’m not a fan of the longer pockets (MOM JEANS!!), this look really works for her.

Sienna Miller: Now this is why I love sienna. She can make it work. Noitce how the shorts make her legs look like they go on forever? And yet her top half is still left with a good preportion? This is do to the strings on the shirt, the necklaces, and the v-necked shirt.

Chloe Sevigny: Pairing her shorts with boots? They visually shorten her.

Part Two: Runway looks

Diesel S/S 2008

Rule: Go V-neck. It’s always flattering, and the cut of the shirt will elongate your upper body.

You can wear a fancier shirt! Just make sure you pull down your shirt enough so that you do not create a bump.

Don’t go with a belly top. You will be left with a patch of skin (usually), and when is that ever flattering?

Grey Ant S/S 2008

KNOW YOUR BODY! (can I say that enough?) Try on lots of styles to see what looks good on you. Look for different pocket styles, looser vs. slimmer fits, where they hit you (i.e below belly button, at belly button, above belly button), and remember to always get a second opinion. Ask someone other than the store clerk (remember, a sale means money to them).

Once you’ve found your pants/shorts/skirt, play with it. Try untucking/tucking the shirt in, and stick to what flatters. Do they look better with a loosly tucked in shirt? A non tucked in shirt?

L.A.M.B S/S 2008

Confused? Try the look with a belt! Check to see whether your pick works with a thicker or a skinner belt (as of right now, skinny belt's are hot).

Have fun! After you think about proportions and cut and everything else, don’t forget to wear your style. Like plaid? Go plaid.

You can look classic. This is perhaps one of my favourite looks (along with Sienna's). Also note, just because highwaisted pants might not look good on you, doesn’t mean to give up on the look. Try shorts! Or a skirt! The possiblities are endless, and at there will be a look for you.

Again, don’t go for a shorter cutted shirt. It will visually shorten you.

Part Three: The Summary

1. Go for a newer styled shirt. Vintage will make you seem like you stepped out of a time capsule.
2. Find what works for you. Try on different styles.
3. Pay attention to proportion. Look to make sure you have not visually shortened yourself. Pay attention to where your untucked shirt hits you (never ever above the line of the pant).
4. Go for a darker wash. Light wash? Too unflattering and way too retro.
5. Try adding a belt.
6. Wear a v-necked shirt!
7. Don’t forget your own personal style.

Organic products are on the uprise, and I'm challenging all of you, my readers, to take a stand, and make your next fashion purchase be from a sustainable product. Make your purchase be it a, shirt, dress, jean, under garments, anything counts!
At first thought, organic cotton was the only thing that came to mind. Nowadays, designers like Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Furstenburg and Agnes B are turning to bamboo for their designs. I apologize for the non posting of the London shows as they became available. University has bombarded me with essays and more essays and revisions of essays and re-writing essays. The horror! Alas, here are some London S/S 2008 collections, but first I'm starting off with Diesel from NY S/S 2008.

Diesel
I always have a soft spot for Diesel, and this collection is no different. Diesel had three distinctive parts to the collection. The beginning was about white and yellow, the middle was grey and white, and the end held black and pink together. I personally loved the white and grey colour combinations.

AH was a pretty collection. However, that is all it was: pretty. Something could have been done to make it stand out, but perhaps the good ole tride and true is just what you need everyonce and awhile?

Henry Holland lost last season's quirky T's and filled the collection with, well, an indescribable assortment of clothing. No words are needed for the, uh, 80's throw-back mix of randomness (and I don't mean that in a good way).

First off, I completely appologize for the non posting. Really, I have been quite lazy to log on and create a post, much less ost the one I have been keeping on hand but have yet to post (which i will, eventually, I promise), perhaps it will surface after the S/S 2008 shows are over. As for now, here is the first set of the S/S 2008 shows, I hope you enjoy them and I am planning on posting everyday so the work won't stack up, but I am human, so I can't really say, but the maximun you should be waiting is a day or two between posts...

Secondly, these are not the complete collections. If you are willing to see more of the collections, look at other blogs, or look elsewhere. I post what I like, or what I find interesting.

one. A Model Life with Petra Nemcova

With both ANTM and CNTM done with, I have got to get my fix. Lately I have been obsessing over AML. Perhaps because it is around the same basis as ANTM, except nobody gets kicked off, and it's not centred around drama. It's about 6 girls, who are given the chance to go to NY and take some pictures, meet some people, and get expirence and guidance (from Petra of course). It should be noted that I do not like Beatrice at all, and that I thought Angelika was a b!tch until a few episodes in (considering it was edited that she wanted a seperate room, and thought the girls were immature). A close second was Britain's Next Top Model, but i am still a bit upset that Abby didn't win in season 2.

Oh the colours! Oh the prints! For $118, I'll pick up a few.

three. the Jill Stuart dress

It's the perfect summers almost over, I'll enjoy it while I still can and pick up this lovely buttercup yellow dress. $118.40

There is a lot going on, but do you not just love it? The buttons, the belted waist, the small band of yellow near the bottom, the collar. I could go on and on. $3771

five. the Christian Louboutin miminette patent wedges

They are patent (I love love love patent leather), and they have a small wedge. Perhaps just about the perfect shoe for back to school. Hello! No switching into a more comfortable flat, as the small wedge is a lot easier to walk around in all day than heels. Also, more practical. $590

I saw the collection on style.com, and I loved it at first glance. You always do make gorgeous clothes, and your runway shows emphasize the appeal. One piece that I was over joyed with was the above red dress. It looked like an oversized sweater, typical of course in your designs. Surely, model Maryna can't be the only one to pull it off? Perhaps I too could make it work?

Now here it is from Neiman Marcus. A complete disappointment if I do say so myself. Sans the runway lighting, the colour looks dingy and dull, and it was in this photo that I first noticed the funny elbows. Stella, I wish it could have turned out better. The good news is I saved myself hefty credit card bill. The bad news? I now know only Maryna can pull it off.

First off, lucky you! Perhaps it was the gazillion books I read about boarding school, where preteens went off to school, lived in dorms and wore uniforms that I hoped I too could go to a school with uniforms. However, as I grew out of my preteen stage, I realized how important individuality actually is. Who really wants to look like everyone else in their school? That's where accessorizing comes in. Although I must say your description is rather vague, I will attempt my best to give you some options in order to set yourself apart from the other students.

Let's start off with some looks to study and hopefully master. Of course remember, if you are on a tight budget, check out the looks, and score your local stores for cheaper versions.

Kirsten Dunst, one of my many style admirers, pulls off an adorable number. Although she is not wearing the look with a school uniform, imagine it okay? Let's break it down.

Brown blazer (used as a jacket),Anthropologie, $78 If your uniform has full length sleeves, opt for a longer sleeved jacket, rather than this, which is short sleeved.

Silver bag, Fendi, $2205 Perhaps the ultimate splurge this season, but if you can, go for it. Otherwise, look for something similar.

Black flats, Jimmy Choo, $340 These ones are patent black leather with black studs, but you can choose to go for a more simple matte black leather flat if you so want.

Plain Jayne says they are a staple this fall, and they are going to be everywhere.

The thing I am emphasizing in this look especially, is the importance of jewelry, while the previous look was about pulling a look together. Here, Kate pairs a super long necklace, and a bangle high upon the arm, and nothing else. Well, unless you count a clutch as something else, but instead of a clutch, you can pair a giant bag with it.

Things not pictured, but to consider.

Tights. Although I have not posted a picture or a price, this season the hottest colour is grey, and not the typical sheer fabric. Think more of a heavier weight fabric, and crochet. Think Tommy Hilfiger Fall/Winter 2007 (pictured below). However, if you are not allowed to wear such tights, I guess you'll have to do the switcheroo from pants once you arrive at school.

Another thing not pictured but to consider are coats. Think colour, and style. Opt for peacoats in an intersting colour like bright red or kelly green over a ski jacket.

Also consider gloves. Length, colour, texture, fabric, there are tons of possiblities. This season we are seeing more of a longer suff, think black patent leather to-the-elbow gloves like Burberry's from Fall/Winter 2007 and mid-arm lengthed fur mittens like the ones from Marni Fall Winter 2007 (pictured below). Although you might have to choose a coat with thinner arms to compensate for the length of the gloves, they are well worth it.

Last and certainly not least, consider scooping up a Proenza Schouler like hat. Keep those ears warm!

First off, some news. Sorry about the brief hiatus this past week. It was my prom, and graduation ceremony and everything else. I'll see if I can upload a picture of my dress later(it was purple).

No best dressed this week either (sorry about that), however, for this week, I have instead replaced it with dress like a celebrity.

What is it with Hollywood lately? Is it just me, or are celebrities more capable of creating a look buy themselves? It seems like more and more celebrities are ditching the stylish, and dressing themselves. Afterall, the last thing we need in this world is Rachel Zoe dressing another young Hollywood celebrity. Below are four looks that I personally gathered in attempts to show just how easy it can be to look amazing. I was inspired by Ashley Olsen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel Bilson and Jennifer Aniston.

I think the new thing on my radar is this dress:

Very Bridget Bardot, and as for now, I'm channeling her in her early days. As in very French, laid back, boho, lot's of black eyeliner and big, volumous hair. Or, rather, I'd like to do that, but I'm a tad scared of becoming too much like Jessica Simpson, and let's face it, thats never a good thing. Although, for $254, along with a pouty smile, I can channel Bardot, and leave Jessica Simpson behind.

Another thing I am practically dying for:

the "Truly Madly Deeply Fluorescent" T-shirt. Sound familiar? Perhaps you remember the band Savage Garden? (for those not in the know)

Ah, the 90's how I loved thee. Anyways, the shirt is very 80's or "I was born in the 80's and want to show that even though I was born a mere 4 months before the decade was over, I was still alive in the 80's" shirt. $16. Yes, it's $16. So go out and buy a couple. As a side note, I have no idea if the shirt was named after the song, but it might as well should be right? Agree?

Just when you thought that you had enough of them (shame on you), they announce a new fashion line, called Elizabeth and James, after their older brother, and younger sister. The collection is "based on a relationship between a young girl and a boy and to tell a story through the clothing. The contemporary collection is a play on masculine verses feminine and casual versus dressy" [http://www.olsen-twins-news.com/].

From what I've seen of The Row, their other fashion line, and now this collection, I am really, really excited, and I can seriously say that I am awaiting more photos to surface of their collections. It's a nice refreshing change from their Wal-Mart line, mary-kateandashley for tweens.

Well now, since my weather has been crappy for the past few days, all I can think about is tomorrow, as in June. Can you imagine? Already, it's June. And with June, comes the summer, and with summer, comes all of the nice lovely weather. Sure, we all have school or jobs to attend to, but I think what we all need right now, is a good vacation, perhaps to Nice? All you really need is this hat ($68)

Excuse my lack of posting lately. I have become rather lazy with posting. However, I am not stopping yet.

The other day, I was browsing through Net-a-Porter (one of my favourite online shops, you know) and found an amazing pair of gold lace-up-the-leg sandals. Yes, for some reason, I am obsessed with them. Why, I have no idea, but I really just love the look of them. Thoughts? $595

While looking at shoes, I also browsed around and found this:

Burberry, how I love you. Alas, for a mere $995 the jacket can be yours. Yes, extremely steep for a normal trench-styled jacket, but an imposter would just never do.

And finally, to add some needed colour to this otherwise monochromatic post, here, from Emilio Pucci , is the ruler of all clutches. Are you ready?

Yes, thats right, it is a purple silk clutch, with a gold frame. I LOVE IT!

Is anyone else loving the return of SMG (by the way, Cruel Intentions is one of my favourite movies...)? I mean seriously, what was the last film she starred in? Scooby Doo 2? Just look at my top 10 picks for S/S 2007 post. The number one want? A white dress. What says summer more than the perfect white dress (well, besides of course a new bathing suit and perhaps sandcastles)? Although Diane Von Furstenburg dress featured was gorgeous, most of us could not afford something like that (let alone the exchange rate and shipping costs). So, look no further than Target.
Say what you want, but just about everybody shops there. Where else can you find Proenza Schouler, Luella (well, formerly), and of course, Isaac Mizrahi, for less than the designer's usual pricey pieces.
Isaac has had a line with the store for what seems like forever, and more and more outfits keep on coming. I must admit that 80% of his clothing I turn away from, but a staple like this white dress, for $39.99 ? How can you go wrong with that?

With only a few months left of school, you need a multi-purpose bag. One that is big enough to hold your homework, and maybe a pen or pencil (or perhaps both), and then have enough room left, so you can ditch the afternoon of school and head for the nearest beach. Although all of the snow might not yet be gone, it's good to have a plan for the months of May/June right? Depending of course on your climate, and when it gets warm.

So just keep the current issue of Vogue, Nylon, Elle, or the new Sophie Kinsella novel in your new school bag, along with sunscreen, sunglasses, and a bottle of water. Oh, and don't forget that new bathing suit and your beach towel. Soon you'll be scoping out the boys on the beach, and getting a perfect glow for grad. Now, if only there was a cure for studying for Calculus...

Take it from Burberry, they know best. With giant buttons, and bell sleeves, it's the new thing for this season. £795

3. The shortshorts/mini

4. The grey jean

Everyone needs that one piece of jewelry that makes a staement. Although this season, rings are ever-so popular, stick with what works, necklaces. Majorica pearl and gold necklace, $145

7. The ankle strap shoe
I love wedges. Not only are they more comfortable than heels, they can still be gorgeous too. Although £415 may be a bit steep for most of us, take the idea of an ankle strap shoe (i'm loving ankle starp wedges) and look for something cheaper at your favourite shoe shop.

8. The patent bag

Take a look at Chanel, last season the garbage bag inspired bag was huge. Now of course that it is spring, take the idea of patent, and transform it to your bag. I am in love with patent clutches right now, much like this Marni one for £229

9. Something metallic

Just look at the list. The gold shorts? The gold and pearl necklace? The gold shoes? Metallics are big this season. As for this dress, buy it now, wear it until it goes out of style, and then save for New Years Eve. What could be better? Alberta Ferretti £820
